Il nome deriva dal mwdgprefisso mwdwgreco mweamweqπαρά, mwegparà, che significa mwewpresso, vicino, accanto, ad indicare la somiglianza dei caratteri con il genere mwfaPlexippus.

Le due specie oggi note di questo genere sono mwfwendemiche dell'isola di mwgaCubacite-ref-salticidae-1-0[1].
